It might not stump the professional 'codesmiths' of the National Security Agency for long, but this password protection routine for Just Basic will provide a fair degree of protection and allow only authorized users (from a list you create) to login and enter a user password to run your executable program.
passWordProtect.zip contains kryptonite.bas (it's stronger than Superman!), a demonstration of a password protected program; pwAdmin.bas, a JB program to create/edit user names and passwords; psAdmin.ini, a data file of sample user names and encrypted passwords; and readMe.mht, a tutorial as a single-file web page for your browser.
