Changing the sample database framework to sequential file?

Hi folks,
Im once again new to Basic. Spent years away and have been at webpages but need some simple solutions.
Im looking at the database framework solution and wonder how hard it is to convert to a sequential file rather than the long text file it uses.
I guess that means an array?
Any hints on how to do that or simple examples I can extend. I need the sequential to fit a simple need at work.( ie transfer to a txt or delimited file)
