release of v 1.02

Post by tomc »

Life Planner v 1.02 release notes

New in v 1.02 are:

1) Field delete – what if you entered the wrong school, little league, or work schedule and would like to delete all the entries at once? If you coded those records with a unique identifier like ‘school’, you can search for all records with “school” and then have the OPTION to delete those plans. NOTE that your other plans on each record will be saved, only fields with ‘school’ will be deleted.

2) User friendly record display – that’s right, just scan for your record with an $ in front. Unique identifiers among many are $04152011 (8 char date) and seq record number like $00105. NOTE this displays the first record in file that matches your search.

It is important not to code your messages with an 8 char date such as on record < 04012011 > creating a message like “taxes due 04152011”.
You will now have two 04152011’s on file. This will leave you with a valid database, however may corrupt your $search for first record. Likewise, on record < 00105 > a message of “ see rec 00125” is less than optimum.

3) Update a range of dates – is on the UPDATE OTHER DATES option. Set up your message as always, then enter how many more consecutive days you want this to appear. A person going on 10 days of vacation would add <9> more days by entering 9. Valid selections are added days of 1 thru 30.

4) New help file – which reflects the latest release

5) User friendly record display for Daily Reminder

6) Misc fixes and housekeeping

* Reduced menu options (combined several selections)
* Several fixes for “Early Outs” that were missing or not working
* “search string not found” added when applicable
* Moved - break record into fields - to subroutine
* Added sub menu in UPDATE OTHER DATES option.

Blank Database for LifePlanner

Post by tomc »

I included a blank database in the initial release but did not include one in the above release v 1.02. In part, I did not want anyone to overwrite their database which could have 100's (or more) entries.
.
I neglected to consider that some of you could be downloading LifePlanner for the first time.
.
If so, here is a blank database that you will also need.

Life Planner v 1.03

Post by tomc »

It corrects a bug introduced in v 1.02.
.
In the Update Other Dates option, when hitting <enter> for the date to occur annually, the wrong variable was used which was set to "" rather than a 4 char date. This caused the first 4 bytes of your message to be displayed in the year field. (Annual dates and other dates of 0000 worked fine).
