ArrowsX

One more rewrite, also bigger and fancier than its predecessors. Of course. This one includes yet another design strategy for managing buttons; this one I like better than my earlier experiments. Enough better that it will likely become a matter of habit for me in future programs written in Just ...

Glad you liked it Janet.

You noticed the MORE.TXT, no doubt. At a point I may add some more puzzles to the little library. Or you can, maybe, and share with the rest of us?

Found my dumb mistake. Gotta watch the fine print better, right?

I had used 0 for X and Y for the upper left corner coordinates. Changed X and Y to equal 1 and all's well now. Naturally.

Just learned that this program works correctly only when screen is set for 640x480. (Which is where I keep mine all the time, BTW.)

Am working on a solution for problem when run in 800x600 and higher modes.

Another gotcha that must be learned the hard way, apparently.

CryoGram -- my notion of Cryptogram

Here's another rewrite, only bigger and fancier than it's predecessors. Of course. We've come a long ways since my original of this genre. It was done in assembly language on a machine that had a golf ball printer rather than a monitor. And the program and its puzzles were stored in punched paper ...

Drop'em = my fourth incarnation of this one

My first incarnation of this game was born in 1986, sired in GW-BASIC on a CGA machine. I have no idea where the idea for it came from. A few years ago, while browsing the internet I came upon a more elaborate game called Pop'em that was similar in concept. Post haste, I wrote one sort of like it in ...

Platforms?

One of my fans has reported that my JB games will not work on his Win95 machine. Anybody have a clue as to why not?

Is it written somewhere what platforms JB will work on? As in, what is a minimum memory size? And what versions of Windows will JB work on? Or maybe, is it known what versions of ...

Thanx much for the encouragement, Janet. Am learning that I can produce simple programs PDQ in JB. Have ideas for several more. Not sure what I'm apt to next, however. Right now, I'm busy bringing my web site up to date re Just BASIC. Should at least have the Software page updated by tomorrow.

IconSpin: Pivot icons on a 6x6 grid

IconSpin: Board game, 6 x 6 grid of icons. Each click on a spinner hub pivots the four adjacent icons. A left click moves the ones above, below, left and right in a counter-clockwise direction. A right clicks moves them clockwise. Object of game is to develop six rows consisting of identical icons ...

Re: "by modifying the attachments list in your first post." Only attachment was a zip file. Can that file be replaced by a new attachment?

My notion of levels:

Program contains 10 "seed grids" of known (provable) solutions. Each new play starts with one of these ten picked at random. The pick ...

Can I (should I) update the uploaded version?

AllZeros - small board game

Board game, 6 x 6 grid of digits 0-3. Each click on a digit button reduces that number by one, and those immediately adjacent, left, right, above and below. Object is to arrive at all zeros, hence the name, AllZeros. Game includes, optionally, clicks, beeps, music and applause, three board formats ...
